3D real-time visualisation for architecture and urban development
Real-time
visualisation opens a new and interesting dimension for architects,
building owners, and town planners. Since not depending on physical models
sketches, drafts and preliminaries can be re-arranged through the
real-time visualisation. Geometry as well as textures of existing
buildings can be shown close to reality even before the first works are
undertaken. New construction intentions are integrated into the virtual
world through their construction data. The decision maker(s) have
therefore the possibility to evaluate changes of the townscape or of the
traffic flow in advance. They fully understand the planning since the full
visual scenario is already known during the planning phase. The high
quality of the real-time visualisation offers an optimal support for the
planning of towns, cities, office buildings, production facilities, or
private construction ventures. It is a very efficient tool for cost
optimisation and construction decision making. An assessment for example
of the traffic situation at vital points within a town or city is
therefore possible through this specific interaction. The possibility of
stereo presentation of the real-time visualisation on either the computer
screen or a wide screen canvas furthermore enables the three dimensional
stereoscopic vision and increases the visual experience for the viewer and
decision maker.
